Everything you need to know about staying at Shingle Lodge.

How many people can stay in the cottage?

Shingle Lodge has 2 ensuite sea-view bedrooms. Each room can be prepared either with one super king-size double bed or two single beds. In addition to this another child under 18 months of age can sleep in a cot.

Is linen included?

All the beds will be prepared with 300 thread count Egyptian cotton bedlinen and luxury hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets. A set of luxury white soft fluffy towels and a bathrobe per person will be included. Complimentary bathroom amenities will be stocked in the ensuites.

What else is included in the price?

All heating, electricity and logs for the wood burner are included during your stay. The kitchen is equipped with all the utensils and crockery you will need for a seven day break. A complimentary selection of tea, coffee and brown and white sugar cubes are stocked in the kitchen for you. Basic cleaning supplies of dishwasher tablets, washing powder, washing-up liquid, bin liners and tea towels will also be included. There is a washer/dryer in the cottage for your use.

Where is the nearest food shop?

We will include a complimentary welcome basket for your arrival which will include milk, home-made shortbread, butter, home-made jam and marmalade, bread and eggs to get you started. There are three supermarkets in Stranraer (seven miles away) – Morrisons, Tesco Metro and Lidl and 2 small village stores in Portpatrick (three miles away).

What facilities does the cottage have?

There is a flat screen television in the living-dining area. There are a selection of board games in the cottage for your use. There is an outdoor terrace area for relaxing.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is free of charge and there is also a landline that accepts incoming calls. All outgoing calls will be charged and should be paid for upon departure. Please note there is no mobile phone coverage at the cottage.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. We allow one dog to stay in the cottage at an additional charge. This must mentioned at the time of booking.

Can I smoke in the cottage?

No. The cottage is strictly non-smoking, however, there is a terraced area outside should you wish to smoke.

When can we arrive?

The cottage will be available from 4pm on your arrival day. Check out is by 10am on day of departure.

How can I book?

You can book online through our website here. You can also contact us either by telephone on 01776 810471 or email reservations@knockinaamluxurycottages.com. We require a 10% non-refundable deposit to confirm a reservation. The remaining charge will be payable 6 weeks prior to your arrival date.
