About 3 miles from the cottage is Portpatrick, a lovely little harbour village which has two small convenience stores, a couple of gift shops, putting green and a selection of public houses.
Stranraer is located about 7 miles away and has 3 supermarkets, leisure centre, museum, library, cafes, restaurants and other shops.

The coastlines bristle with delightful towns, villages, beaches and headlands – and inland the more dramatic mountain scenes of the Galloway Hills dominate a large part of the region.
Gardens galore, including some of Scotland’s very best, a ferry hop to Ireland, historical castles, great golf particularly at Stranraer, Portpatrick and Southerness near Dumfries – and sensational walking and biking country to all be explored during your stay.
